Hustle and bustle, i.e. black friday

There have been some amazing outfits so far this morning too. I can't imagine leaving the house or even the bedroom in some of the garb. Granted I'm very casually dressed but my hair is brushed and gathered, my jeans cover my butt, and my sweatshirt is clean. If camera phones weren't so loud I'd take a few pictures. It would sure make for a good laugh later, ha!

The morning shopping efforts didn't start out too well for me. I struck out on three out of three things that I really wanted to get at the store. Thankfully I was able to get two of the items online even though one wasn't on sale online (just in the store). Now I'm waiting patiently for a few stores to open so that I can finish up with gifts and switch over to a few self treats : D

Its been too long

As I am coming to the realization that Thanksgiving 2010 is just a week away and that on December 1st I will have been married to a great guy for 6 years it has caused me to reflect on the events over the past year and beyond. And SO many things have happened over the past year. Some good, some sad and some hopeful. I've prayed more over this year than ever before in my life. Prayers of pleading, of thanks and of tears that only He could translate. But as I look off toward the new year I have a new found hope and vigor that it will be better than the last. New friendships will become stronger and closer, love for my husband will grow, and hopefully our little family unit will begin to expand once more. I have said time and time again that friends are the family you choose and I am sure liking the view right now :)

San Diego Bully/Pit Bull Lovers Meetup Group

So far we've been able to attend one official meetup and I have become much more active in the web portion of the group. I've also been posting an adoption flier to try to help a great 2 year old pit named Flint to get a new forever home.

Chico had a great time at his first meet up and was very well behaved, the star advocate if I may say so myself ;) Dartanian was quite the opposite but hopefully after his alteration this week that will be fixed. All puns intended :)

The primary coined term for this group is "Gaggle of Goldens". It hasn't worked out with scheduling just yet for us to meet up with this group but they seem to be a really neat group of people and dogs and we are really looking forward to getting Dartanian some better socializing and activity with the same mentality when it comes to balls and water :)

The next outing that we may be able to attend will be at dog beach in about a month so hopefully by then he will be healed from his procedure and that will help a lot with his dominant tendancies.

Yes, it is here again and I am so thankful we are able to raise awareness, funds and attend our second annual Paws in the Park walk with Chico! Last year was a rather traumatic experience with his Urgent care and such that this year should be a "walk in the park" :) We are thankfull to all that are able and willing to donate to this wonderful facility. They do their very best to get each animal into a forever home AND have a wonderful foster program for those that need a little extra care and/or time while waiting for their new family(ies). Hopefully Brandon and I will be able to become even more active with assisting the EHS in the near future, whether that's with fostering or volunteering at the facility in some fashion. In the mean time we are amped about the Paws in the Park 2010 event and look forward to seeing the wide array of furry canines :)

"I'm not dead yet"

It is not a surprise to me that my last posting is what it was. Chaos ensued from that point through a week ago (3 months). There were some big changes for me at work including a department change. I was with my previous position for nearly 4 years so the change is a welcome challenge but a little daunting at the same time. Because I've been at the company for the amount of time I have, people tend to assume I've already been completely filled in on all the details and am as fluent with the new position as I was with my old position. Hopefully now that my sharp replacement has taken most of the reins over I will be able to take on a little training of my own. These are all great steps for me to be taking because it means my career path was taken seriously by my supervisors and I'm headed in the right direction, up. :) However, this does mean that I am involved in the tax world now which means I will be effected by some of the crazy hours involved with "tax season" but at least it's just a few months.

All in all I do think that things are looking up and I'm hopeful to get back into the writing saddle.
