Sweet Anticipation

Precious little twinkle of my eye, as you grow and blossom each day, sweet anticipation builds upon itself. From the moment I knew of your existance to being able to call you by name, you have already become such a big part of the lives of your loving parents. We have loved you long before you came into our lives and are so thankful you are almost here. We joyfully look forward to experiencing all of your firsts. Your first breath, your first cry, your first loving hugs from mom and dad. Welcome to this world. There will be challenges through the years but we will be a strong and loving, God centered family unit. We love you little flower bud and look forward to watching you blossom and bloom.

As I begin to dream of the arrival of our precious little one, lullabies start drifting through my mind. Some are from sweet memories centered around my childhood, some I've grown to love. Can't wait to serenade my little Jasmine blossom to sleep.

Long Awaited Joy

After years of ups and downs, happiness and sadness, a miracle has been given to us. December 2010 (not too long before Christmas) "B" and I were blessed with the discovery of a much anticipated pregnancy. Our first doctor's appointment was on his birthday (couldn't ask for a better present!) when we got to see our little bundle's heart beat. Then at the big 20 week ultrasound it was confirmed, more than once, that we are to be expecting a little girl in August. B knew it all along and I just assumed boy because all the boys in my family and all of the people around me having boys. She will be the new princess on the block, whether I like it or not, ha!

In retrospect though it makes sense because we came up with the girl names right away when we first discussed baby names during our first long drive out to El Paso all those (6+) years ago. Jasmine Marie. Jasmine was a name that B had liked for quite some time and I've always been a fan of the more timeless names like flowers and such. Marie is for my paternal grandma, even though her name is Mary she is still beyond pleased to finally get her name back into the lineage as she is a big genealogy buff. 

We have already been so blessed by the many gifts that have been pouring in over these past few months. As a matter of fact, today is my third and final baby shower. Then it's on to making my long awaited shopping list to fill in the gaps of necessities. I've been so very good and haven't bought more than a few outfits that happened to be on great sales. That part has been extremely difficult!  But waiting has more than paid off. The nursery is all but finished. We have to hang the curtains and set up whatever we get today. Then the final touches will most likely be made in the next 2-3 weeks when I put the cherry on top by bringing my 5 gallon bow front freshwater fish tank home to put on the stand that is already waiting for it in the room. I will do one whole post dedicated to the nursery once it is picture ready.

To those discouraged by infertility or timing not being on your side. Lean on your Savior, He will not give you a burden too heavy for you to carry. When He deems the time is right, He will bless you with a family of your own. In the meantime, do not let yourself get discouraged. Be proactive, research adoption and keep an open mind that your timeline is not God's timeline and in the end all is aligned with His plan for your life. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. :) It may feel beyond difficult when you are in the middle of the throws and seeing all the women around starting to blossom but know that sharing in their happiness will help make you stronger through it all and strengthen your relationship with those people. I have now been on both sides and am here and willing to help those still waiting to cross that life changing bridge if ever you need a shoulder.
