When is it appropriate to exit a performance or service or movie with a child? Do the same rules apply to the parents of a ticking child as to the parents of an infant? I think a few small sounds is harmless but if my baby starts to fuss, has a dirty diaper, or I know is hungry which will lead to fussing, then I attempt to discreetly exit until the situation has been handled. This topic comes about as the result of a Christmas concert and carol sing. At which a tween boy was having very loud and shrill vocal ticks. It was extremely distracting, as hard as I tried to ignore it, I simply could not. At the same time though I felt bad for the boy and his parents. How would you handle that in their shoes? I'm not very well educated on ts, but the experience definitely made me want to look it up.
