December Daily - Day 30

on Friday, December 30, 2011

Only O.N.E. day left in 2011. New Year's Eve used to be a reason to plan ahead for a spectacular evening celebrating the arrival of a whole new year. This year was not that way, we got down to the wire (moments ago) and finally nailed down plans for tomorrow night. Thankfully the plans do not include B and I sitting at home alone then going to bed early.

"A cousin is someone who knows all about you but likes you anyway"
I have some pretty awesome cousins! Have I ever mentioned that? It is wonderful to have such great relationships with so many of my cousins where they feel more like siblings. Sometimes we may go several months without a good and hearty conversation. But, when we do touch base, it's like there was never a gap in time, we just pick right back up and jump into conversation. It would be so wonderful to be able to see (in person) my family that is sprinkled across the nation at least 2-3 times a year. If someone could make that happen, I would be eternally grateful. :)

She sure does enjoy being outside!

Yesterday baby J and I went up to feed my parents' dog (they were out of town). While there, Jasmine was introduced to the site of the pool (which she was mesmerized by), got some outdoor tummy time in, and then we took "Mud" for a walk on the trails surrounding my parents' property. We had a great walk! Mud was very well behaved and enjoyed getting out to smell the sites, while baby J was thoroughly entertained each time he trotted by. I knew it was time to turn around when Mud started laying in every shade spot he could find. Isn't it strange to think that in the final days of December it could be warm enough to want to seek out shade?! When baby J and I returned home, I assembled her high chair :) The seat has three different recline/angle settings and the base is on lockable wheels which makes it easy to scoot her around. I am always trying to find some way to get her entertained long enough for me to accomplish something with two hands. Thankfully now that she is becoming more and more interactive with her toys that task is becoming easier each week!

Now I go to reflect on the events of the past year for my final December Daily post.
