I love Christmas lights! They bring such cheer. It is so fun to see the creativity (or lack thereof) that people use to make their displays come to life under the pale moon light :) Christmas lights were one of the first celebration items that I remember growing up. I rode my bike to the near by CVS, bought a few boxes (can't remember if they were even meant for outdoors because I didn't know any better) and had successfully put up about half of them across the front of our home by the time my dad returned from his hard day's work. Now that I think back on it, maybe that had a little something to do with our family officially celebrating Christmas together for the first time the following year.
Now that I have my own little family I have been having so much fun, with B, trying to figure out what our family Christmas traditions will be. So far, I really like this December Daily. It is a good motivator to keep a level head and accountability to yourself even in the midst of some serious chaos. It allows you to reflect on the previous year and look forward to the near future. And it helps get you just a little bit further into the holiday spirit... if the massive turkey feast from Thanksgiving and the leftover sugar high from Halloween weren't enough. ;)
Here's to family traditions, both old and new alike! *cheers*
