Twas the night before Christmas...
And what is going all through your house? As you may have noticed, traditions are still being decided on/ironed out in my household. But here is a little bit about what we did on this Christmas eve day.
This morning, impromptu style, we took ingredients over to my parents' house for a French toast breakfast. It was so yummy! We presented to my parents the 14 volume picture album set that B helped me put together from all of the loose family pictures I could find. They were a huge hit! My parents sat down and looked through every single album together. I'm so glad they enjoyed it and will for many years to come. Part of the gift was a promise to help my mom scrapbook some of her high school pictures :) After enjoying the pictures, mom and I prepared most of the snacks for the evening. My parents' Christmas eve service started an hour earlier than ours so we went home to relax a little before getting ready. Our church's Christmas eve service was lovely and punctual, which was greatly appreciated. A really neat element was that the grandson of our pastor and one of the elders was baptized. It added a very real reminded that Jesus at one point too was just an innocent little baby. We went back to my parents' after the service for a finger food snacky dinner complete with family trivia followed by an extremely funny round of catch phrase.
Now it's time to squeeze in a few hours of sleep before the festivities of tomorrow, Christmas day :)
Christmas eve gift!!
