So baby J ended up not receiving her 4 month immunizations due to unforseen insurance complications. (i.e. I wasn't prepared and willing to shell out almost $700 for a check up and some shots.) She did, however, receive her check up with current stats. Baby J is a little pint but proportionate, so even though she is on the low end of the percentile charts she is happy and healthy which means we have nothing to worry about. Our little munch is 11 lb 6 oz., 23.5 inches long, and has a 16.1 inch head circumference.
On the development end, baby J has been becoming much more interactive and aware of her surroundings. She know that she sees the bottle food is on it's way and happy noises of anticipation ensue. She is starting to have the same response when a bib is put on as well. She can sit with less and less assistance, it'll just be a matter of time before she can fully sit on her own. Baby J's favorite thing is to go for an outdoor walk with a dog. She absolutely loves dogs! So far she has met her two big dogs, a golden retriever and american bulldog/pit, her grandparents' dog, a lab/pit, her great aunt's tiny chiuaua, and her godparents' corgi and she LOVES all of them. It makes me so happy that she is growing up around a variety of animals and different sizes so she won't have a phobia but a healthy understanding and appreciation. :)
On a social note, Uncle Tom came over for dinner and a movie. We watched "Enemy at the Gates". If you haven't seen it, I highly reccommend puting it on your list! It is a very gripping story about two snipers in WWII, one Russian and one German, and their hunt of eachother. Along with that main story line you get a glimpse of what the bloody Battle of Stalingrad was like. I am fasinated by movies that are more of an acurate portrayal of history than glorified stories that hollywood has revamped. Movies of this type are a good tool for getting youth more interested in history and actually remembering it.
